Chief Service Engineer – Semiconductor Industry (m/f/d)

Our customer is the subsidiary of a renowned Japanese corporation, specialising in the design and manufacturing of precision tools and moulding equipment for the semiconductor industry. From their Bavarian office the company runs their Europe-wide operations.

The company has recently closed the deal on a major project for a large and global player within the industry. Thus, our customer is looking for an experienced Chief Service Engineer (m/f/d) to act as the main point of contact to the customer and provide comprehensive technical support at all levels, both for this project as well as future Europe-based projects which are already in the pipeline.

Your tasks

In short, your role is the field service of customer specific machinery used in the back-end process of semi-conductor manufacturing, including transfer/ compression moulding as well as trim/ form equipment and their tooling.

During the first year at the company, you will be the main field service engineer accompanying the introduction of specialised machinery during a major pilot project based in Germany.

The first couple of months will focus on an intensive job training including a 1-2 month visit to Japan and visits to various existing Europe-based customers in preparation for the project.

The second phase is the installation phase: Here you will work exclusively at the customer’s new production site in Germany, supporting the customer in all aspects of the set-up including installation, testing and troubleshooting. You will also work closely with other field services agents sent from Japan and report directly to the European MD.

What comes next? After the project’s successful completion, you will be able to focus your attention on other projects across Europe, allowing for a more flexibility and a more hybrid working model.

Future perspective: The semiconductor market in Europe is growing and our customer plans to expand accordingly. As the first Europe-based service engineer (m/f/d) you have the opportunity to build up and lead a service team from scratch.
