Business Development Manager China-Europe Trade (m/w/d)

Our client is an international logistics company specializing in block train transportations between China and Europe in line with the "One Belt One Road" initiative. Additionally, transport options via sea or truck are offered to bring goods to their final destinations from the end of the railway lines.
For the German subsidiary in Hamburg with a growing team of five employees, our client is now looking for a proactive personality to establish the trade business unit for electrical appliances and mechanical spare parts, which are transported along the block train routes between China and Europe.

Your tasks

  • Strategically developing a well integrated trade business unit for the purchase and sales of electrical appliances and mechanical spare parts in Europe
  • Acquisition and the support of new customers with profound knowledge about the international industry and the products
  • Organisation of the block train transportations between Europe and China
  • Defining and implementing shared trade strategies with the team of the Chinese headquarter for smooth transactions
  • Contract negotiations and networking with suppliers, customers and trade partners

Your profile

  • University degree or completed apprenticeship with a technical focus like mechanical or electrical engineering or a commercial background preferred
  • About five years of work experience as Purchase, Sales or Supply Chain Manager in a technical company, like in the automotive supplier industry — you have to know about the requirements of the transfer processes of the products
  • Fluent German and English language skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated personality who is interested to work in an intercultural environment
