Our client is a commodity trading company based in Zug, Switzerland, which was founded as a joint venture between a German
utility company and a non-European group.

The German utility company is one of the largest energy producers in Germany with over 6,500 employees and a turnover of
around 3 billion US dollars. They have their own trading and optimization division, which manages and markets the
group’s assets along the entire value chain in Germany and abroad.

Goals / Tasks / Responsibilities

You will work closely with the CEO and company board to drive and grow the business.
  • Development and implementation of a financial and operational strategy and metrics tied to that strategy
  • Ensure the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems to maintain the company's assets
  • Developing systems to effectively integrate reporting, accounting in order to optimize company value, maximize cash flow,
    and minimize risk and cost
  • Keep track of best practice in the trading business
  • Management of capital requirement and budgeting processes
  • Reporting of accurate financial results to the board of directors
  • Risk Management and ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Representation of the company and assumption of responsibility for third parties

Qualifications and Skills

  • Master´s degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent business experience in a major company
  • At least ten years of experience, which includes working with top management and acting as a trusted and reliable partner
  • International commodity trading or banking background appreciated, industry experience of at least two years
  • Financial Planning and Strategy, Accounting knowledge, Forecasting, Corporate Finance and Risk Management
  • Advanced knowledge in operational management disciplines
  • Dynamic decision maker driven by solid analytical and leadership skills
  • Team player with an entrepreneurial mind-set
  • High level of written and oral communication skills
  • English and German fluent
