Job Description

Reason for the vacancy:
To strengthen and further develop the activities in Chile and these countries the company is looking for a Sales Manager.

Objectives of the job:
Significant expansion of the current sales volume through
  • Domestic market expansion
  • Developing the export in the countries bordering the Pacific Ocean
  • Developing a broad costumer structure in the market
  • Leadership and expansion of the sales organisation

Main Tasks:
  • Managing and controlling the sales department
  • Further development and expansion of the sales activities
  • Independent sales of the products
  • Professional support of the existing clients and the partners on site 
  • Independent observation of the market and further

Position within the company hierarchy:
  • As Sales Manager, the job holder reports to the local General Manager

Travelling:
  • Significant time travelling within the area he/she is responsible

Company car:
  • Yes

Probation period:
  • 6 months

Place of work:
  • Chile, Santiago

Date of employment:
  • As soon as possible

Job Requirements

Education:
  • University degree in business management, alternatively industrial engineering with business minor or similar will be preferred; alternatively commercial training

Professional experiences:
  • At least about 8 years experience selling technical consumer goods to distributors, important retailers and end users.

Special skills:
  • The position holder needs to know and be capable of a professional handling of the sales channels
  • Technical interest; the specific knowledge of abrasive products will be acquired by the position holder within the company
  • Project experience in the field of setting up new sales organisations and sales channels
  • Practical experience in management, especially in sales
  • SAP knowledge is an asset Experience in leadership

Leadership experience:
  • Leadership experience (in sales) is required

Languages:
  • Spanish:   Mother tongue or business fluent
  • English:    Business fluent
  • German:  Optional

Personal skills:
  • Very good communication skills and experienced in dealing with different international mentalities, including
- great intercultural competences
- the ability to communicate with different levels: Top Management, Purchasing or other area heads of department, as well as being able to communicate with the local machine operators
  • Goal-oriented
  • Self-motivated and dynamic
  • Experienced in teamwork and capable to do so
  • Dependable negotiating skills
  • Reliable and interested in a long-term co-operation
  • Main focus on skills and experience in sales
