European HR Generalist (m/f/d)

Our client is an internationally renowned Japanese manufacturer of high-grade chemical products such as engineering plastics and synthetic rubber and electronic sensors for applications in the automotive industry.
The company was established in Germany (Rhineland) as the European headquarters of several subsidiaries for all material-related business and as a means of strengthening the brand name in Europe. The company’s HR department will play a significant role for its subsidiaries and group companies located in several European countries.

Objectives/ Tasks/ Responsibilities:
 
Support European HR managers in all HR related matters, focusing on Payroll, Recruiting and HR Administration matters. The position owner constantly works on an efficient and professional cooperation between local staff and international expat members.

Payroll (Incl. Compensation and Benefits)
  • Responsibility for administering the entire payroll process in close cooperation with local Payroll Providers and General Managers / Finance Managers of all companies (collection and transfer of data, regular check of data received, first contact person for local employees, first contact person for local payroll providers)
  • Assist in the preparation of the yearly Salary Increase Recommendation Process (Collect relevant data, administer updates of job descriptions, administration of increases)
  • Collect information and provide suggestions for employee benefits programs by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends
Recruiting and HR Marketing
  • Administer all recruitment processes for local employees within the given HR policies (set up of job description, salary grade definition, job ad / cooperation with recruiting companies, preselection, interview process, implementation on payroll, new hire orientation)
  • Support Organize HR Marketing activities at universities and during business exhibitions
  • Assist and administer the Review system (arrange and prepare meetings, documentation follow-up, update of template and materials, joining employee / managers meetings) 
  • Manage terminations and employee leaves within the given HR policy (administrative handling, internal communication, exit interview, exit checklist etc.)
HR Administration
  • Administration of all employment changes (promotions, salary increases, transfers, amendments to the working contract, one time payments, etc.)
  • Assist European HR Manager in the preparation of regular HR audits according to local legal requirements, using the support of local labor lawyers
  • Centralization, storage and maintenance of HR files (employee files) for the local employees of all Companies
  • Set up and maintain HR database (including all relevant employee data) for all European companies
Training and Personal Development
  • Support in the implementation of operative personal development measures in close cooperation with the European HR Manager and the Direct Manager
  • Carry out training initiatives
General
  • Support the set up and performing of an employee satisfaction survey (collecting benchmark information, preparation of the survey, performing the survey, analyzing the results etc.)
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications.
Power of authority
  • Signature for any HR related documents
 
Requirements Profile

Educational achievements
  • University degree or education with appropriate further training in HR Management
Professional experience
  • The ideal candidate gained at least 5 years experiences in an international HR generalist function.   
Special Experience / Knowledge
  • General knowledge of employment law and practices in an international environment are necessary.    
Leadership experience
  • Not necessary   
IT knowledge
  • Very good skills in MS Office   
Languages
  • English and German on business fluent level
